Gymnospermium odessanum (Gymnospermium odessanum) (DC.) Takht. - a species from the Barberry family (Berberidaceae).
Herbaceous perennial plant with a height of 5–20 cm. There are several stems. They are simple, erect. The stem leaf is one, with a trigeminal plate and a short petiole, to which 2 adhesives have grown. The underground shoot is a spherical bulb. The sepals are light yellow, twice as long as the petals. The fruit is a spherical capsule, 7–8 mm in diameter.
It grows on limestone, loess-limestone and granite slopes. It prefers ravines and beams (in the grass layer of steppe, tree-shrub communities).|
The species is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine in the status of "Vulnerable", endemic to Ukraine.
