Today, park employees held an environmental and educational event "Let's Save the Primroses" for students of the Malakhiv branch of the Berezansky Lyceum of the Berezansky Village Council.
Primroses appear first, even before the leaves appear on the trees.
During the event, the children learned that most primroses are rare and therefore included in the Red Book of Ukraine. This means that they should never be picked, dug up, or otherwise harmed.
It was discussed that protozoa play an important role in ecosystems:
they provide the first food - nectar - to insects;
The seeds of some primroses have fleshy appendages that ants and other animals feast on;
Dead terrestrial parts provide food for other animals.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that primroses are vulnerable to environmental conditions, but the greatest threat to them is human activity (digging, picking, destruction of their growing places).
The atmosphere of the event was lively and friendly. Children shared their observations of nature and early spring plants.
We thank the teachers of the Malakhov branch for their cooperation and warm welcome, and the children for their active participation in the event!
