1. Pheasant's eye (Adonis vernalis L.)
Pheasant's eye (Adonis vernalis L.) is a perennial herbaceous plant of theRanunculaceae family.).
The plant is 10-40 cm tall. The stems are numerous, naked or slightly pubescent, simple or branched. The lower leaves are brown, scaly; the middle leaves are sedentary, trichiperosected. The root is dark brown, it will branch a little. The flowers are large, bright yellow (up to 5 cm in diameter), regular, single, on the tops of the stems. The fruit is a dry gray-green seed.
It grows mainly on the slopes of beams.
The plant is poisonous. It has medicinal properties.
Listed in the Red Book of Ukraine in the status of "Invaluable".
