Study of unique ecosystems regional landscape park "Tilihulskyi"
The territory of the regional landscape park "Tilihulskyi" is unfolding as a biodiversity refuge, on various landscapes of which rich flora and fauna flourish. Recognized for its importance as a wetland bird habitat during nesting, wintering and seasonal migrations, the park covers a total area of 13,954 hectares.
Located near the quiet estuary, the regional landscape park "Tilihulskyi" extends as a living canvas, decorated with almost 620 species of higher plants, 43 of which are listed in the environmental documents of Ukraine and the world. Among these botanical treasures are bright Buzky and Shrenka tulips, late blooming Ankara lateflower, delicate mesh crocus, spring corridalis, Elves' snowdrop, steppe almonds, woolly astragalus, elusive Bush algae and many others. As you wind through the park, you can enjoy the enchanting flora that adorns every step of the way, each species contributing to the ecological richness of this natural harbor. In the water area of the estuary and along the coast, there is a grouping of wildlife, where 56 species of fish, 5 amphibians, 8 reptiles, 120 species of birds and 26 mammals coexist harmoniously. The bird scene unfolds with seasonal flocks of 2,000 to 7,000 pairs, 8,000 migratory individuals, and about 10,000 individuals who choose to hibernate in the park's arms. Reed beds in the upper estuary and sandy islets in shallow waters serve as vital bird habitats. It is noteworthy that rare species are sheltered here, including ruffles, white and gray herons, which make up a significant part of their European population in winter.
Natural vegetation grows on the territory of the regional landscape park "Tilihulskyi" — an unspoiled tapestry with water groups, salt marshes, salt marshes, real and rocky steppes, as well as woody and shrubby thickets. This ecological refuge offers a range of diverse landscapes, from shimmering aquatic formations to the elastic rocky expanses of the steppe. The rich biodiversity of the park is manifested in the diversity of plant life that has adapted and thrives in these different ecosystems. These endemic species are not just plants, they are living evidence of the ecological richness of the region and the park's desire to preserve the unique biodiversity that adorns its landscapes. Fescue-feather steppes extend as far as the eye, revealing a fascinating picture of elastic cereals. In the salt meadows, the mastery of nature is further revealed when flowers such as Buzky and Schrenka tulips paint the landscape in bright shades. Salt flats decorated with salt flats create a delicate balance between the salt-tolerant vegetation and the salty waters of the estuary. Traveling through the park, you will meet a flowering flora that paints a vivid portrait of the sustainability and beauty of nature.
The regional landscape park "Tilihulskyi" is not just a landscape, it is a celebration of the sustainability and beauty of nature, a testament to our commitment to preserving the rich biodiversity that makes this park a reserve for both flora and fauna.

FAUNA
The Tylihulskyi Regional Landscape Park has such an active bird population that it functions as an ornithological reserve. Most of these birds are seasonal visitors who come either to breed and raise offspring or to spend the winter months. Their favorite habitats are often located in reed beds at the top of the estuary and on sandy islets in the lower reaches, strategically chosen to protect their nests from potential predators.
During the migratory seasons, the park becomes a busy center, where the number of birds reaches several tens of thousands. Traditionally, the park has significant accumulations of lake and yellow-legged seagulls, ducks, a large cormorant, white-white geese, white and gray herons. Among the species listed in the Red Book, the park is a haven for ruffles, fennel, sea swallow and rare black stork. Sometimes rare and therefore valuable visitors appear in the sky of the park, including yellow herons, pink pelicans, black storks, and a few years ago the banks of the Tiligul estuary witnessed the majestic presence of flamingos.
