Spring meadow saffron(Bulbocodium versicolor–is a perennial plant of theColchicaceae family.).
Herbaceous plant with a height of 8–15 cm, spring ephemeroid. The bulb is ovoid, with black-brown membranes. Usually develops 3 leaves of dark green color. They are lanceolate linear with a cap-shaped apex. Flowers are solitary or clustered in 2–4 pieces, purple, 2–4 cm long, appear simultaneously with the leaves. Fruit – an elongated or elongated egg-shaped box.
The species is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine in the status of "Vulnerable", endemic to Ukraine.
