Stipa capillataStipa capillata(Stipa capillata) is a perennial plant of the familyPoaceae family,, a common steppe cereal.
Herbaceous plant 30-100 cm high, which forms dense sods. The stems are numerous, thin, strong, naked. The leaves are narrow-linear, wrapped around the stems, running down inside, naked outside. The inflorescences are multicoloured, compressed, narrow, 10-25 cm long. Awn is sharp-rough, slightly winding, 13-23 cm long. The only needle grass in Ukraine, which awn is not feathered, but hairy. The fruit is a grain. Decorative and forage culture.
Listed in the Red Book of Ukraine in the status of "Invaluable".
