Expeditionary visits were carried out for the purpose of the impact of recreational activities on the ecosystems of the park of the Tylihulskyi RLP

Експедиційний виїзд на територію РЛП «Тилігульський» з метою оцінки впливу рекреаційної діяльності  на екосистеми парку

Of particular value on the coast of the Tylihul estuary is the habitat of the "Space carrot"(Astrodaucus littoralis (M. Bieb.) Drude) from the family Apiaceae.Apiaceae). The species is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The conservation status of the species is vulnerable. Scientific significance: Black Sea endemic species.

Therefore, an assessment of the impact of recreational activities on the ecosystems of the RLP "Tylihulskyi" was carried out with the involvement of scientists of the NUK named after Admiral Makarov (Ph.D. Melnychuk S.S.) and the director of the NPP "Bugskyi Gard" V.A. Artamonov, scientists of the Park (Dyachenko O.V., Melnyk R.P.) conducted monitoring studies of the "Space carrot" on the coast of the Tylihulskyi estuary. This is a continuation of the study of this rare species (advanced studies were launched in July this year).

Particular attention was paid to the study of the "Space carrot" population, since this species had a peak of vegetation. The species grows on the spits of the Tyligul estuary in the zone of the littoral embankment. The peculiarity of this species is that its growth does not "go" beyond the littoral embankment either towards the estuary or towards the coast (solonetz and solonchak, saline swamps). That is, the habitat is determined – from 3 m to 7 m along the shore of the Tylihul estuary. |On 1m2 ,2 we recorded 3-4 individuals of this species with well-developed ground shoots and inflorescences. Individuals of this species occupy a prominent place in the plant grouping. The area of projective coverage of the species per 1m22 is from 10% to 40%, although there are only 3-4 individuals. On one individual, on average, we counted up to 5 very well-developed inflorescence (an umbel).

To date, we cannot draw clear conclusions about the disappearance of the "Space carrot" (Astrodaucus littoralis) on the territory of the Tylihulskyi RLP:

1. This species is found on all the spits.

2. Species features in normal condition.

3. The number of individuals coincides with last year's studies (Chronicle of Nature, 2022)

Regarding previous studies of this type: there is not a single scientific confirmation (a scientific article; a popular science article; monitoring studies for 1995-2021 (the years of the Park's existence)) today.

Participants of the expedition:
