Scientific Expedition of the Tylihulskyi Regional Landscape Park: Studying the Park’s Flora and Vegetation

From August 7 to 12, researchers from the Tylihulskyi Regional Landscape Park conducted another field expedition dedicated to studying the current state of the flora and vegetation within the Park's territory.

The studies covered various natural ecosystems of the Tylihul Estuary: steppe areas, ravine slopes, coastal spits, salt marshes, wetlands, meadows, and shrub communities.

During field surveys, the species composition of plants was clarified, the locations of rare and uncommon species were identified, and the status of their populations and distribution patterns were assessed.

Of particular value were the discoveries of rare plants—specifically *Stipa capillata* (hair-like feather grass), *Goniolimon graminifolium* (grass-leaved statice), and *Astrodaucus littoralis*—which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Also recorded was *Eryngium maritimum* (sea holly), a species protected at the regional level.

At the same time, researchers noted the spread of the adventive plant species *Centaurea solstitialis* (yellow star-thistle), which requires further monitoring.

The results of the expedition made it possible to supplement the floristic data for the Tylihulskyi Regional Landscape Park and to identify promising sites for the future monitoring of rare species, as well as for the study of the summer flora and vegetation of the spits within the Tylihul Estuary.

Scientific research, field observations, and continuous monitoring are an essential part of the Park's work, as such data enable a better understanding of the state of natural complexes and the planning of future conservation measures.
