On the territory of the Tyligulskyi Regional Landscape Park, park workers made and installed a hotel for insects on the Great Ukrainian "Chilova" spit. For the manufacture of houses, only ecological materials were used: wood and natural fillers.
Why create such temporary housing for insects in protected areas?
- maintaining biodiversity and creating favorable conditions for various types of insects that play an important role in the ecosystem;
- the structure serves as a safe haven for pollinators, allowing them to safely lay their eggs in the spring and increase their chances of surviving the winter;
- "hotel for insects" will be the beginning of educational work and a clear example for spreading information about the importance of the role of insects in the surrounding natural environment.
It should be noted that the spread of almost 90% of flowering plants in the world depends on insects. They destroy pests, are food for many species and are an important part of our ecosystems.
